More than 400,00 households had their power knocked out throughout Michigan from the last storm that hit early in September. With that said, I imagine generator sales have soared through the roof. I recently purchased one but was a bit intimated by this unfamiliar machine. The generator safety video below will show some tips when starting and using a generator. I really hope I don't have to use it but it does give you a sense of security.
