It’s the week of Christmas and I am sure we all have a dinner and maybe a party or two to attend this week and weekend. Here are some ideas for healthier dishes that you can bring. If you’re not sure, your holiday dinner will have healthy options; make sure that YOU bring the healthy option! I am always the one to bring salad or vegetables.
Here are some ideas for you:
- Spinach & Pecan salad (this is a total hit!) – spinach, cherry tomatoes, blue cheese crumbles, & candied pecans (or regular pecans)

- Vegetable tray and hummus (but, find the lower fat hummus)
- Fruit salad
- Make your own trial mix (pre-dinner snack) almonds, walnuts, dried cranberries and raisins
- Baked potato chips (skip the sour cream & ranch dips) – use fresh guacamole & low-sodium salsa and hummus
- Mashed sweet potatoes with cinnamon! --- Skip the butter & marshmallows
