Each page a features a Washtenaw County Non-Profit accompanied with contact information for the respective charity. Once you find the item(s) you would like to donate, simply contact that charity for more information. Remember: if you would like to make a charitable donation for 2012, time is running out.

Hi everyone, at the end of my last blog I posed the question of why, due to Health Care Reform, don’t employers simply eliminate health care benefits for their employees and let them find coverage on the yet to be determined Exchanges. Although I’m not saying this isn’t a viable option, especially due to the overall feeling of angst surrounding Health Care Reform, in my opinion employers will need to consider what I call RR&C. This stands for Recruitment, Retaining and yes the dreaded “C” word, Competition.

Starting a workplace wellness program is awesome for your employees. It gets them aware of and involved with maintaining healthy habits while in the workplace. The hope is that it will translate into behaviors even at home. However, when doing claims and utilization analysis, it is often found that the families of the employees are a major source of high cost. This can be for a number of reasons. It should be the goal of any workplace wellness program that the healthy messages translate into healthy family practices.
