When you think of Blogs, the first thing to come to mind likely is not insurance…am I right? Well I can’t say that I blame you. Over the next several weeks, I will try to bring to any willing blog reader a slightly new perspective. This perspective will hopefully give an insider’s look of Kapnick Commercial Insurance. Yes there are insurance trends, important coverages, and new products that we will discuss. But this blog will also introduce you to some Kapnick Insurance Team members and explain how we collectively help our clients. One of our tag lines is to “Simplify” Insurance. I hope that this blog can illustrate how we accomplish this, all the while delivering a professional and best in class insurance related experience.

When the temperatures start to drop the first thing I think of isn't a pair of boots or a cozy sweater. Nope, the first thing I think about is soup! For times like these, I turn to my Healthy Butternut Squash Soup. For comforting, satisfying, zero-guilt goodness; step right up. Did I mention it requires only 3 main ingredients? Butternut squash, onion, and vegetable broth- that’s it. How wholesome!

Halloween is in a few days, and for some us, it is the most tempting holiday to break diet guidelines. I love candy corn, chocolate and peanut butter, caramel apples and cider mill sugar donuts. The last few Halloweens I have worked on ways to treat myself once in awhile rather than sitting on the floor with my kids in a sugar coma. You don’t have to deprive yourself an occasional piece of candy here and there; just don’t let it derail the diet you’ve worked so hard to maintain over the past year.

If your company is seeking a way to begin or continue to generate excitement around health and wellness, and Health Fair is a great way to do it. There are several benefits to initiating a Health Fair although planning can be somewhat involved. Getting health and wellness vendors involved can help to curb the expense of providing the fair. The return on this investment of time will be well worth it.
Salads aren’t just for summer. They’re a simple, straightforward way to add nutritious, seasonal ingredients to your diet year round. Vegetables boost the immune system and are celebrated for their powerful antioxidant properties. I recommend a mix of hearty greens, such as escarole, radicchio, arugula, and endive for fall. I love this recipe because you can easily remove the cheese and add roasted chicken or fish in its place. The salad's versatility can make it chock-full with protein or little treats. Whatever you choose, the recipe works well with how you might like to eat on any given day. Part of healthy eating is variety!
