I recently read an article about “why you may not be losing weight” and it made me think of my own weight loss roller coaster I experienced throughout my 30s. The three points that I truly believe people don’t take into account are: processed foods, workouts, and sleep.

One of the most common bad habits that stem from the hustle and bustle of the holidays is forgoing exercise. You don't have to be a compulsive gym-goer to burn calories. If you can't maintain your usual regimen now, walk a little more—take an extra lap around the mall during your holiday shopping. Or do ten minutes of strength-training at home.

While the holiday season is full of fun, there is always the chance that the busy season will get you feeling more stressed than gleeful. Instead of losing your cool, take a few minutes to reconnect and get centered with some yoga; it will keep you sane through the height of the season. Even if you only have 15 minutes to spare, moving through a yoga sequence will help you keep calm and leave you saying “Om” instead of “AHHHH!”

"It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!" - so the song goes. Surprisingly, no one has written one with lyrics to "It's the Most Stressful Time of the Year!". Yes - it can be a wonderful, beautiful time if one puts their focus on the true meaning of whatever holiday they are celebrating. However, the reality is that with parties, entertaining, shopping, traveling, etc., etc. - stress is almost inevitable. There are ways to help deal with and minimize stress but we at Kapnick wanted to help you out in a particular area...shopping for tablets.

When the temperatures start to drop the first thing I think of isn't a pair of boots or a cozy sweater. Nope, the first thing I think about is soup! For times like these, I turn to my Healthy Butternut Squash Soup. For comforting, satisfying, zero-guilt goodness; step right up. Did I mention it requires only 3 main ingredients? Butternut squash, onion, and vegetable broth- that’s it. How wholesome!
